Nearly two million men and women in America underwent plastic surgery in 2015 and as many as 14.2 million had minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. These ranged from BOTOX® Cosmetic to liposuction. Our board-certified plastic surgeon in the Bay Area offers several forms of plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures. We can help you decide which one is best for your body and aesthetic goals.

More than double the number of people had plastic surgery in 2015 than in 2000, and the figures seem to collect around three specific surgical operations:

1. Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation covers an assortment of breast procedures — from breast reduction and reconstruction to implants and lifts. Men also often undergo gynecomastia which is breast reduction for men.

2. Liposuction

Liposuction is one of the most effective forms of body contouring. This plastic surgery removes fat cells from one or more of your problem areas and comes in at number two of the most popular in 2015. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 222,051 liposuction procedures were performed last year.

3. Rhinoplasty or Nose Reshaping

Nose reshaping or rhinoplasty has been popular for decades and still holds its appeal in the United States. This plastic surgery is usually performed to give you the nose you’ve been wanting for years. Some medical conditions such as a deviated septum may require a rhinoplasty to help you breathe easier and reduce your risk of sinus infections.

These were the top three plastic surgeries in 2015, but eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty, tummy tucks and facelifts weren’t far behind in number.
