An Integrative Nutritional Program
“Be Weller than Well”
This is the perfect time to make your transformation more complete.
– Janice Morris, RN
It is important that surgical patients include superior nutritional choices in preparation for their surgery. Designed by Janice Morris, R.N., the “Be Weller than Well” program emphasizes health and beauty as a reflection of good nutrition. “A patient who is well nourished and well hydrated on the cellular level has a natural head start on wound and scar healing. How we nourish our cells, by the choice of food we eat before surgery, immediately post operatively and in the ensuing weeks and months after surgery determines to a great degree, the inflammatory response, wound healing, and our general sense of well being.”
Our nutrition program answers the often asked question, “What should I eat?” Prior to your surgery we will provide food choices and menus designed specifically with you in mind. “I have found the more we educate patients on diet, the more they are able to maintain these changes and continue to make better choices for themselves. In my work as a Plastic Surgery nurse I continually see patients having profound emotional experiences as a result of their surgery. Individuals who have given great consideration to their appearance are equally interested in how they want to feel. With that open mindedness comes a desire to not only look good, but to feel well. Often the positive change of appearance is just the motivation to try new and different ways of addressing their nutritional needs. Improvement comes very soon for most people and when people feel good they get excited about doing those things that create a more balanced sense of well being.”
Janice works with all people eager to find solutions to their dietary and health questions. Her approach to health and healing is free of “gimmicks”, pre packaged meals, calorie counting, and expensive, sometimes questionable supplements. The program can be applied to anyone’s lifestyle “right here and right now”. Janice’s motto is “Good Health is more often the result of what a person DOESN’T eat than a result of what they DO eat”
Janice is available by appointment where she does a thorough intake and assessment followed by recommendations for improvement and change. She will continue to work with you as you integrate and maintain new health habits. “My goal with each individual is to make recommendations that a person can do daily and build from there. Subtle changes, over time, create profound improvements”.
The Importance of a Nutrition Program
My approach is to begin with each patient exactly where they are and work for progress from that point. Consistent conscious change results in profound improvements. The special needs of the Plastic Surgery patient are addressed with the goal of having their surgical experience improved through nutritional counseling.

Nurse. Nutrition Specialist. Entrepreneur. Meet Janice Morris, a new member of the Bay Area Aesthetic Surgery team. A 4th generation Californian, Janice received her RN degree from Santa Monica College. In 1992 she attended the Operating Room Training Program for Registered Nurses at County USC Medical Center in Los Angeles. For most of her career as a Registered Nurse, Janice has worked in the area of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. “I find this area of medicine so psychologically uplifting for patients and still marvel at the magic performed by Plastic Surgeons.” Janice has always had a special interest in food as it relates to overall health and well being of her patients and continues to be a student of all types of dietary systems from different cultures. “My background in aesthetic surgery involves caring for people who want to enhance their appearance. Many of these patients are also keenly interested in what will make them feel better as well. There is definitely a nutritional component to beauty.” Most recently, Janice received certification from Heartwood Institute where she learned from the world renowned teacher and author of Healing with Whole Foods, Paul Pitchford, MS.
According to Janice, reclaiming or maintaining health is a daily commitment requiring knowledge and awareness. She has created the “Be Weller than Well” system by using principles that effectively encourage people to take care of themselves in a practical, consistent manner despite overscheduled lifestyles. “I know from experience it is simply not enough to hand people a diet or exercise routine and expect them to enjoy—much less comply with it over time. I am not married to any strict system. But I have found certain habits and principles remain constant whether you are a meat eater, vegan or even follow a raw food diet.” Whether a person is underweight or overweight, this plan will ultimately stabilize the individual at a healthy weight. It also counteracts some common complaints. “I have seen a lot of problems—indigestion, bloating, lack of energy, “brain fog” decreased or eliminated by simple concepts being put into practice.”
After searching for a healthy alternative to sugar and artificial sweeteners, Janice came upon a superior product called SUPER STEVIA and started sharing it with friends and health food store owners. In 1999 Janice formed Amai Health Products Inc. through which SUPER STEVIA continues to be sold nationwide.
