Flabby arms can also be caused by the natural aging process and lead to a low self-esteem, as well as wardrobe issues. Excess arm skin may also cause physical discomfort and skin irritation by rubbing on the inside of the upper body and/or breasts. This is why many Bay Area patients choose to undergo an arm lift surgery.

Who is a candidate for Arm Lift in San Francisco?

The best candidates for the arm lift procedure are individuals who have recently lost weight and wish to tighten stretched out skin. Patients seeking arm lift surgery typically need to be in good health and non-smokers. Pregnant women and/or individuals suffering from major conditions, including heart disease, are generally not eligible for this type of surgery. To determine your candidacy, it is best to schedule a one-on-one consultation with one of our top surgeons.

How is an arm lift performed?

An arm lift is a sophisticated cosmetic procedure used to remove excess fat and skin. The surgery time is generally one to two hours and it is performed under general anesthesia. An incision is made on the inside or the back of the arm and the incision size is determined according to each patient’s specific treatment plan and aesthetic goals. Some of our arm lift San Jose / San Mateo patients may only require minimal incisions, while others may need an incision that runs from the elbow to the armpit. Once the incision is made, our surgeons may use the liposuction technique to remove fat. Excess skin is then trimmed, tightened and sutured in place. Arm lift surgery is an outpatient procedure, performed at our team's state-of-the-art surgical suite located in the Bay Area.
